Everyone has a different reason for wanting to renovate their home. Sometimes it's simply the need for change. On the other hand, some renovate their home for more practical reasons, such as the birth of a new baby or the need to care for an aging parent. If you love your existing home and your neighborhood and you don't want to move, renovating your home is a great alternative to buying a new home and can be significantly less expensive. In most cases you already have some equity in your home so why not use some of that equity to renovate or build an addition!

The Design Process

To start the design process, just call to schedule a site consultation with a designer. During the site consultation we will come to your home and examine the feasibility of the changes you would like to make. We listen to your ideas and help you determine if the changes will work structurally and aesthectically with your existing home and nieghborhood. At the end of the consultation you will be provided with a written estimate for our design services. A deposit of 35% of the estimated design cost is typically all that is needed to get started on the design of your renovation or addition.

The preliminary design will include the floor plans and one elevation. Typically this will take about 2 weeks. (Design times may vary, please consult your designer.) Then it's time for a second meeting with our designer to fine-tune the design. Once you approve the schematic designs, most plans can be completed in about 2-4 weeks. When you pick up your plans, our designer will review them with you to make sure that the finished plans meet your expectations.
